Dive Instructor/PRO DIVE Premium Scuba Instructor Traineeship
This is the ultimate package of professional dive training at Sydney's PRO DIVE Academy, leading to qualification as PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, the passport to worldwide employment in the recreational dive industry.

The training is eligible for UK Armed Forces resettlement funding for service leavers.

The traineeship follows PADI's modular system. You start with a week of familiarisation diving, to introduce you to the PADI scheme or to refresh your knowledge if you are already qualified as a PADI Open Water Diver. You quickly move on to Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Emergency First Response.

With PADI Rescue Diver in the bag you turn your attention to air filling procedures, gas blending and the use of Nitrox.

Next, you start your Divemaster training and assessment - improving your dive knowledge, increasing your experience and fine tuning your skills for the first professional level.

Then we give you some practical training in Retail Dive Centre Management (RDCM). The RDCM syllabus gives you the experience needed for work in any dive school environment. It includes:

- Dive cylinder filling and maintenance
- Equipment servicing
- High pressure compressor operations
- Point of sale administration
- 24/7 electronic booking system
- Stock control and management

Your next two weeks are a great dive adventure, putting everything you've learned into practice - and having lots of fun! You fly to Cairns for a liveaboard trip, to experience the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef and to experrience the levels of professionalism, knowledge and the skills needed for a deckhand on a dive boat.

Then it's back to Sydney for a weekend dive trip along the New South Wales coastline - this time, with customers. You are the Divemaster in charge!

Next up is the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). This is designed to teach you all you need to know about dive instruction within the PADI scheme, as well as preparing you for the specific job of teaching PADI courses from beginner to Divemaster level.

Now you are ready for two days of Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI) training and assessment, to gain your Primary and Secondary Care Instructor certificate.

EFRI is followed by the Pro Dive IDC Plus, a mock instructor exam where you recap the essential diving skills, practise your teaching techniques and undertake theory exams. A short period of revision and practical rehearsal ensures you can enter your Instructor Evaluation expecting to pass with flying colours.

Now you're ready for the Premium Instructor module. We want to make sure you are more than just qualified, and this is where you gain invaluable teaching experience in the real world. This is also the chance for you to add some PADI specialities to your diving CV. We include Oxygen Provider Instructor and Nitrox Instructor courses plus additional training in Dive Centre Operations.

As part of the Pro Dive professional mentor programme, you will teach Open Water and Advanced courses, lead night dives and boat dives and and organise weekend trips as dive leader. You will graduate from Pro Dive as a confident, experienced Open Water Scuba Instructor.

Training is based at Manly's Pro Dive Academy. You stay at Queenscliff near one of Sydney's most spectacular beaches. For more information on the training location use the Destinations link above left.
