We are pleased to announce that we have just introduced new theory courses at our yachting base in Cowes for Day Skipper and Yachtmaster spread over three weekends. Completing the courses over weekends should mean you can maximise your time on the water over the key sailing season in 2010.
Our new weekend Day Skipper theory course has also been enhanced to include the 1 day RYA SRC radio certificate required to operate a VHF/DSC radio unit on board a vessel.
Andy Hunt, UK Operations Director commented, “we believe that combining the two RYA courses ensures that anybody who then progresses onto the practical side of the syllabus is perfectly positioned with the core theory knowledge that they require. The SRC course is the perfect partner to Day Skipper theory and cements key aspects of the knowledge requirements, especially around emergency procedures”.

We are also introducing the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean theory course, which like the Day Skipper and Yachtmaster courses, we can offer from our training centre in Cowes. Andy Lorant, Managing Director commented, “we were being approached by people undertaking the ARC and keen to complete the course in time for their Atlantic crossing, thus enabling them to take their sights in order to book the oral exam on their return”.

Andy went on to comment, “we hope that these new weekend courses will also be attractive to resident Islanders who at present might have to travel to the mainland to be able to complete their theory courses over weekends”.
Our training centre in Cowes is located in a prominent position next to the river Medina and if you require accommodation fo r any of your weekends, next door to our cottages.
