RORC Yacht Racing with Flying Fish in 2010
Hot on the heels of our line honours resultfor"Flying Fish Arctos"in the 2009 Sydney Hobart race, we are pleased to announce that in the UK, we are entering "Flying Fish Hot Stuff" one of our Beneteau 40.7's, in the 2010 RORC racing season.
After a busy racing season in 2009, we are keeping the momentum going this year by competing in a series of offshore events, in addition to our usual list of regattas.
"We want to give people the chance to race offshore every year" advises "Hookie" aka Michael Hook, Fastnet veteran and Fish Business Development Manager. "The Fastnet Campaign is an unbelievably exciting event, as is Round Britain and Ireland, but it's also a big commitment time wise and money wise."
Offshore yacht racing is a great way to develop all your sailing skills. Crew need to work smoothly and quickly to ensure that the boat keeps the highest possible speed at all times.
Andy Hunt, UK Ops Director, explains "our yachting graduates are always keen for the next level of sailing and many go on to compete in Flying Fish race campaigns, both in the UK and Australia. We are excited about entering the RORC series this year, which gives people the opportunity to try something new."
Our RORC yacht racing programme in 2010 is open to all, but we would recommend that you join the boat with some sailing experience. If you need to gain qualifications, have a look at our UK Sailing School >>
