 Learn to sail or become a sailing pro at the Flying Fish Sail Academy in Sydney, Australia. Flying Fish is approved by Yachting Australia and the Royal Yachitng Association to offer all levels of practical and theory courses in yachting, dinghy sailing, powerboating and windsurfing.
Flying Fish Sail Academy is based in the spectacular setting of Sydney's Middle Harbour Yacht Club. We operate a fleet of comfortable Beneteau 40.7 cruiser/racers which are ideal for learning to sail and a McIntyre 55 ocean racing yacht for extended offshore passages.
Our dinghy fleet includes six two person Magno sailing dinghies (complete with assymetric spinnakers and trapezes) and six Laser Pico singlehander dinghies which are ideal for juniors learning to sail.
Learn to sail in Sydney: Our weekend courses include Start Yachting, Competent Crew, and Day Skipper. We also run spinnaker training, dinghy sailing and powerboat courses. Our five day live-aboard options include Competent Crew, Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster.

Theory courses in our waterside classroom: RYA Basic Navigation courses are run over five evenings and are ideal for beginners. We also offer five day intensive courses for Dayskipper Shorebased Theory, Yachtmaster Shorebased Theory and Yachtmaster Ocean Shorebased Theory

YA Safety and Sea Survival, ACA Marine Radio Operator, STCW 95 Basic Safety Training, RYA First Aid, RYA Radar Operator, RYA Diesel Engine Maintenance, RYA/YA National Powerboat Certificate: Many of the above courses are mandatory requirements for professional yachtmasters and offshore racing sailors. They are strongly recommended for anyone planning to sail safely offshore. We run them at regular intervals at our training facility at Middle Harbour Yacht Club.
