The story since 1993
The story of Flying Fish began in 1993 when Andy Fairclough and Andrew Lorant set up a winter windsurf training camp in Barbados.
Sailing and windsurfing
In 1995 we established our European base at Vassiliki on the Greek island of Lefkas. 20 years later, we are running Windsurf Instructor courses at Club Vass and Dinghy Sail Instructor courses at Wildwind.
We launched RYA Yachtmaster training in Australia in 1996, at Sydney's Middle Harbour Yacht Club. Our flagship Yachtmaster Traineeships now run three times a year in Cowes and Sydney.
1998 saw the first Flying Fish PADI professional scuba dive traineeship. In 2003 we added a Divemaster Internship in Vassiliki, Greece.

Sail Academy Sydney
In 2009 we established the Flying Fish Sail Academy in Sydney, bringing together our administration staff, RYA instructors and operations team at Middle Harbour Yacht Club. Here we deliver yacht training and yacht racing as well as dinghy sailing, all from an impressive location on Sydney Harbour.
Flying Fish now trains and places over 1,000 professional candidates a year, plus many hundreds more who join us for personal skills training, yacht racing or a challenging activity holiday.
We are confident that we offer the best courses available in our activities, in the world's best training locations.
If you are making a serious career move, planning a gap year or just aiming for a great adventure - we look forward to welcoming you to Flying Fish!
