This Vulnerable Persons Policy outlines the measures and procedures established by Flying Fish UK Ltd to ensure the protection and well-being of vulnerable individuals who engage with our training services. The Policy applies to all staff and customers involved in our training programs.

Definitions

Vulnerable Persons: Individuals who, due to age, disability, or other circumstances, are in a position of increased risk and require additional protection and support.

Flying Fish is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for vulnerable persons participating in our training programs. We aim to prevent and respond effectively to any potential risks or instances of harm.

Responsibilities

Managing Director is responsible for establishing, implementing, and monitoring the Vulnerable Persons Policy.

Department managers are described as the designated persons.

Employees and Training staff:

  • All employees and training staff must familiarise themselves with the Policy and adhere to its guidelines.
  • Employees and training staff are responsible for reporting any concerns or incidents involving vulnerable persons to the designated person.
  • Employees and training staff must treat all individuals with respect and consideration, refraining from any form of discrimination or harm.
  • Customers should immediately report any concerns regarding their own safety or the safety of others to the designated person.

Training and Awareness

All employees and training staff who come into contact with vulnerable persons will receive training on the Vulnerable Persons Policy. This training will cover:

  • Recognising signs of vulnerability and potential abuse.
  • Appropriate communication and engagement techniques.
  • Reporting procedures for concerns and incidents.

Reporting and Response

All concerns or incidents involving vulnerable persons must be reported to the designated person promptly. The designated person will:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals involved.
  • Investigate the concern or incident in a confidential and sensitive manner.
  • Take appropriate action, which may include involving external agencies if necessary.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality will be maintained throughout the reporting and investigation process, respecting the privacy of all individuals involved.

Review and Improvement

The Vulnerable Persons Policy will be reviewed annually or as needed, considering changes in legislation, best practices, and any incidents or concerns that arise. The Company is committed to continuously improving its policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.

Communication

This policy will be communicated to all employees, training staff, and customers through our website.
