COLOUR BLINDNESS

22 May 2015 | Posted by: allison

Hi, my son has failed the Ishihara test for colour blindness and the ophthamologist has indicated that it is severe. This being the case he will fail the ENG1, however he can do the Lantern test. Unfortunately the Lantern test cannot be done in Barbados. My question is from those in the know is how realistic is it that he would get a job as a deck hand on a Superyacht? Has anyone experienced frustration in getting a job on a Superyacht with this deficit? Should he proceed with doing the course, bearing in mind of course that he may or not pass the Lantern test. Worse case scenario, if he fails the Lantern test what is your suggestion? Many thanks for your response. Allison
