This two week course is an introduction to the exciting sport of dinghy sailing. It is an intensive programme, ideal if you are thinking of taking your skills up to instructor level in the future. You go afloat on your first day and we teach you the basics: rigging, launching and landing, basic controls, sailing upwind and downwind, tacking, gybing and capsize recovery.
You will soon be familiar with the five essentials of sailing: sail set, trim, balance, course made good and centre board.
At the end of the first week you put all your skills together to compete in a race day
This is more than just a sailing experience. You also have the opportunity to join the Flying Fish trainee instructors and learn all the background theory knowledge needed to become a safe and efficient dinghy sailor.
The course is based at Club Vass and Wildwind in Vassiliki, Lefkas, Greece. Budget accommodation is at our own Fish House, simple tourist rooms in the village.
