RYA Day Skipper Practical – 5 days or 3 weekends
Day Skipper Practical will teach you the skills required to safely skipper a small cruising yacht in familiar waters by day.
This course is for those who have completed RYA Competent Crew or have equivalent experience.
The course includes pilotage, navigation, safety, seamanship and yacht handling under power and sail.
You will develop your skills with expert guidance from a friendly Flying Fish instructor. By the end of the course you will have the skills and technical knowledge to skipper a small yacht with confidence.
RYA Day Skipper Shorebased Theory – 5 days
This will ensure you have the underpinning theory knowledge required to act safely as a skipper.
International Certificate for Operator of Pleasure Craft (ICC)
An ICC is needed for the inland waterways of Europe and for the coastal waters of most Mediterranean countries. As the holder of a Day Skipper certificate you are entitled to an ICC from the RYA.
If you do not hold an RYA Day Skipper Practical certificate but have the equivalent skills you can book to do an ICC test with Flying Fish in Cowes or Sydney.
We have some fixed ICC course dates online but we can usually book an extra date at quite short notice.
