Head out from Airlie Beach through the 100 magic miles of Queensland's Whitsunday Islands: you are embarking on one of the world's great offshore passages. Turn right and head south, inside the Barrier Reef, towards the beautiful Percy Islands.
This is magnificent warm-water cruising where you encounter all manner of marine life including whales, dolphins and dugongs. On reaching Hervey Bay and Fraser Island between July and October, you have arrived at one of the world's great whale-watching sites.
Sail on to Lady Musgrave Island one of the gems of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Lady Musgrave is the southernmost island of the Bunker Group, situated off the Capricornia coast. The island is a coral cay with a surrounding reef, declared a national park as long ago as 1938.
