Start as a keen intermediate skier and progress to Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance qualification as a Ski Instructor Level 2, Disabled Instructor and CSCF Race Coach. With these certificates real job opportunities become available.
The training is eligible for UK Armed Forces resettlement funding for service leavers.
During the 11 weeks of this course you will see dramatic improvement in your technical knowledge and ability on the slopes. We cover methods of detection and correction and help you to apply these to yourself as you learn the latest techniques.
You start with two weeks of ski training in preparation for the Level 1 instructor course in your third week. This is where you develop your interpersonal skills and learn the specific CSIA method for teaching beginners.
The course continues with a further two weeks of practical and theoretical skills development leading to the Level 2 instructor assessment in week six.
The final five week period is devoted to race training and an in-depth seminar programme including the Recreational Avalanche Course, Emerrgency First Aid, Injury Prevention, Disability and a range of equipment specialties.
The CSIA is a member of The International Ski Instructors' Association, making it possible for you to work with this qualification in many other countries (including Switzerland, Austria, Andorra, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia and New Zealand).
To work in Canada as a non-resident immediately after an early-season course, you must arrange your work visa in advance. Use the Fish Essentials link above left for visa information.
