Hamble rivals Cowes in its claim to be the heart of British yachting. The river's location makes it ideal for excursions into the Solent and as a departure point for cross-Channel passages.

A busy racing season attracts yachts from many clubs and yacht owners throughout the sailing world. The Warsash Sailing Club, The Royal Southern Yacht Club and the Hamble River Sailing Club combine to organise some very competitive events.
