Flying Fish is approved by the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) to deliver all elements of STCW Basic Safety Training (BST). Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) is a compulsory training module for all crew members employed on those ships required to comply with the ISPS Code.

Pre-requisite experience and qualifications
No experience is needed.
During the one day course, you will cover the following topics in order to complete Proficiency in Safety Awareness (PSA):
- Contributing to maritime security through heightened awareness.
- Recognition of security threats.
- Understanding the need for, and methods of maintaining security awareness and vigilance.
You should combine this course with STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (FPFF), Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR), Personal Survival Techniques (PST) and Elementary First Aid (EFA) – or search again for STCW Basic Safety Training which covers all these subjects in a six-day course.
