1. Why should I train in Vass?
Vassiliki Bay has been the hub of the watersports industry for the last 20 years.
The unique wind phenomenon in Vassiliki Bay, perfectly suits beginners and improvers in the morning. It then revs up to force 5/6 to the delight of intermediate and advanced sailors in the afternoon. Its the watersports mecca of Europe!
Enjoy the many local tavernas and eateries on offer in Vassiliki – social Greek dining at its best. Flying Fish students get a discount at Club Vass, where we spend most of our days.
With many bars and venues, including the famous Zeus Bar, Vass has it all to offer. A large collection of like-minded poeple in a warm climate, is a recipe for success.

The locals are very friendly. They are happy to help you learn Greek, but also speak good English. There are some great local characters in the town
2. What’s an average day in Vass if I was on an instructor’s course with FF?
Tuesday and Thursdays 8-9
Optional fitness options: mountain bikes, SUP, Swim, YOGA and Run Circuits.
10am Morining briefing
10-12.30 lessons with short theory and lots of water time.
12.30 – 2pm Free sailing time and lunch
2-5pm Simulator and high wind blasting sessions!
3. What is the kit like?
Every year Club Vass take delivery of 270 Brand new boards and sails from Fanatic, Starboard, Severne, RRD, JP Australia, not to mention top of the range SUP and MTB selection, and we get to use all of it!!!
The basic training takes place in Laser dinghies the international Olympic boat and the biggest single handed class in the world. As well as the RS 2K a race equipped asymentic spinnaker boat. Once our students have mastered the basics we have the use of the hobie cats and asymmetric spinnaker boats of the Wilwind one of the best selections of Kit in the world.
