Maritime safety courses
We deliver all five modules of STCW 95 Basic Safety Training in a one week course. You can also book any of the individual elements as a standalone one day course. We also run RYA First Aid, Personal Survival, Radar and Powerboat courses in the UK, Greece and Australia.
STCW 95 Basic Safety Training - 5 days in Cowes or Sydney
This is a comprehensive crew safety course which is required for work on all commercial yachts and many other maritime operations.
Basic Safety Training is also strongly recommended for recreational sailors.
YA ISAF Offshore Safety and Sea Survival – 2 days in Sydney
This course meets the requirements of Yachting Australia (YA) and the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) in all aspects of sea survival. It is a requirement for anyone planning to take part in an offshore race in Australia.
You will learn skills to improve your chance of survival in the event of a variety of on board emergencies including vessel abandonment and man overboard.
First Aid training – 1 day in Cowes, Sydney or Vassiliki (Greece)
In the UK we run the STCW Elementary First Aid course. In Greece we deliver the RYA First Aid course. In Australia we offer St John Ambulance Senior First Aid, which is NSW WorkCover approved. Both courses are run over one day.
RYA Radar – 1 day in Sydney or Cowes
This course introduces you to the operation of small boat Radar, to assist your decision making in navigation and collision avoidance.
RYA Powerboat Level 2 with ICC – 2 days in Cowes, Sydney or Vassiliki (Greece)
RYA Powerboat Level 2 is recommended for anyone planning to work professionally in the yachting industry. It is an essential qualification for driving the tender to a superyacht and a requirement to work as an RYA windsurfing or dinghy sailing instructor.
YA Start Powerboating with NSW Boat Licence – 1 day in Sydney
In New South Wales Australia any person who drives a powered vessel for recreational purposes at a speed of 10 knots or more must have a boat driver's licence.
