Our Superyacht Stewardess course gives you the essential skills needed to enter the Superyacht Industry as a Steward or Stewardess. A great option if you are new to the industry and want to learn your role onboard.
The course starts out with STCW Basic Safety Training, mandatary for anybody working on large yachts. The Basic Safety training, although having a serious side, is also great fun and you will learn a lot about your responsibilities as professional crew.
Next, is our Stewardess Training Course where you will learn all you need to know to start a career as a Steward or Stewardess. You will learn everything from how to make a bed to making coffee and hospitality. You will host a cocktail party serving drinks and canapés to our VIP guests. Captains and owners expect strong hospitality skills; having completed this programme you will have a thorough grounding in all areas needed to perform effectively onboard.
Powerboat training and how to use a VHF radio are included in the course giving an understanding of who to drive a fast powerboat safely.

Pre-requisite experience and qualifications
You must be 18 years old to train with Flying Fish. Experience in the hospitality industry is useful but not required. To succeed in the Superyacht industry you must present a smart, well-groomed appearance. You should have a strong work ethic, vital to your new career. We recommend you get your ENG1 medical before starting your training course

- Duty roster management.
- Service on board.
- Mooring protocol, fenders and lines.
- Food and hygiene.
Basic Safety Training
STCW Basic Safety is a compulsory qualification for crew on superyachts and all vessels over 24 metres.
- Elementary First Aid.
- Personal Survival Techniques.
- Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities.
- Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting.
- Proficiency in Security Awareness.
RYA Radio VHF Short Range Certificate (GMDSS/DSC). This one day course teaches you marine radio techniques and emergency procedures.
RYA Powerboat Level 2
The ticket you need to drive a yacht’s tender. We cover this in a two-day course which provides intensive training in the practical skills and theory knowledge needed by the small boat driver.
(Optional) Superyacht Recruitment Day in Antibes
There is no additional charge for this Recruitment Day in the South of France. Our staff in Antibes help you through the process of seeking employment. The day includes; looking at local crew agencies, what to expect, personal presentation, do’s and don’ts, dock walking, and a final polish of your CV before you begin your career in the Superyacht Industry.
